Post 7 - Improving the learning experience
All my
experience in the English learning is marked by the English program of my
school, or saying better, by my teacher in the four years of secondary school.
When the level of the develop of the English language doesn't was bat in this
institution, this person in particular had archaic teaching methods, like use
of the half class time to write a lot of grammatical rules on the board for
after use the second half of the class to read the rules in high voice. This
way to teach make that I linked for a time the English with a bored practice.
Besides, the low requirement to obligate
me to use the language in real contexts, speaking and listening, generate that
I don hadn’t the habit to use the
English and try it make me very nervous.
I think
that most of the people, or at least a lot of people that I know, have or has
have the same problem that I had when I enter to the university. This is why I
consider that the method of learning promoted with the English program, or
perhaps only in the third an fourth level (the programs that I have to study)
are very good to help people that have a bounded knouledge or linguistic
baggage to try to use the language, helping them to "throw themselves to
the pool". The principal tools that achieve this objective are the blogs
and the dialogues in the class time.
In general
I approve the program because I consider that for me it serves. I think that
the workload is the correct but I would be more flexible with the deadlines to
give the works, considering the time that demand all the other subjects, some
of that in our career that have specific times, like the journalistic guidelines. Despite of all this
my teacher in particular was very conprehensive with the arrears.
Learning at the second school is very important. If you have had a good English teacher, you should be "peinarte".
